Operations & Program Manager
The Center for Community Stewardship (C4CS) is looking for a person to serve as both an internal operations specialist and a client-facing program manager serving our fiscally sponsored organizations. This new position at C4CS will play a vital role at our organization, focusing on contracts, HR, IT, accounting, and all facets of internal nonprofit management. This position offers great potential for professional development and growth within the organization.
About the Center for Community Stewardship
C4CS is a rapidly growing nonprofit focusing on fiscal sponsorship, capacity building, and community conversations. C4CS currently has over 50 fiscally sponsored organizations in Wisconsin ranging from small grassroots organizations to larger organizations with multiple employees. This position will get to work directly with some great organizations, including the Progress Center for Black Women, Open Doors for Refugees, MiWisconsin, and others.

Position Responsibilities
This position’s duties range from high-level to administrative. This position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the C4CS accountant and CPA.
The main job responsibilities include:
- Contracts. Help project leaders with creating, reviewing, and revising contracts.
- Human Resources. C4CS works with an external partner to process our payroll and provide HR advice. This position will be responsible general HR assistance as well as gathering, verifying, and entering timesheets from all employees.
- Compliance. Work with fiscally sponsored organizations to verify they are following grant and audit requirements, accounting standards, nonprofit rules & regulations, and are following the C4CS internal policies & procedures.
- Program Management. Manage a portfolio of fiscally sponsored organizations and assist with the rest as needed. This includes answering questions, reviewing profit and loss statements, reviewing payment requests, helping projects create budgets, and working with them to apply for and fulfill grant requirements.
- Other job responsibilities include:
- Learn and share new labor and nonprofit laws and regulations that may impact C4CS and the fiscally sponsored organizations.
- Systematization and efficiency improvement.
- Be a liaison between C4CS and our insurance company.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Several years of experience in a nonprofit administrative environment, preferably with an emphasis on operations, as well as customer service experience.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: accounting, contracts, HR, or insurance.
- Financial literacy: able to read financial reports, and have a basic understanding of accounting and budgeting.
- The ability to be comfortable working with a variety of types of grassroots, diverse organizations, and a dedication to equity and inclusion.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- High level of proficiency with Word and Excel and experience with a variety of web-based software and fundraising platforms.
- A passion for working in the nonprofit sector; particularly working with social entrepreneurs and start-up organizations.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly desired.
Hours/Schedule
Full-time (40 hours per week). Schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, but is somewhat flexible.
Pay & Benefits
$50,000-$58,000 annually based on experience.
