We seek organizations that approach the fiscal sponsor relationship in the same way that we do, with a spirit of collaboration and trust. We strive to continually learn, grow, and figure out how we can better partner with and support the people who are doing the important work of making our community a better place to live.
Eligibility
C4CS Sponsors Organizations that…
Are in alignment with C4CS values and are interested in partnership and collaboration with C4CS
Have operations and activities that are consistent with C4CS’s mission
Are based in Wisconsin and do not work internationally
Can be insured under C4CS’s insurance
Demonstrate genuine charitable intent and fit the criteria for 501(c)(3) status
Have established the following:
Have committed leadership and an advisory board
Can demonstrate the need for the services they intend to deliver
Have an initial budget
Have initial funding or a good idea of where to raise money, and have a willingness to actively fundraise
Have a thought-out business plan or strategy
Working with C4CS has been great. It allowed me to launch an idea I really believed in – to center Black women. Having never started a nonprofit before, it was a lot to learn, and being fiscally sponsored by C4CS allowed me to bring my idea to fruition.

How to Apply & Next Steps

Initial Conversation
Please contact Lisa Dugdale (lisa@community-stewardship.org) to set up a brief initial phone call or meeting. If your initiative meets our criteria, we will send you the official application to complete. If we do not feel like it is the right fit, we are more than happy to refer you out to other potential fiscal sponsors or recommend other next steps.

Application Review
Our team will review your materials within two weeks. We will schedule a meeting to provide any feedback on eligibility, missing information, and ask questions.

Board Review
Once we have a completed and revised application, the C4CS Board will vote to approve the new sponsored organization. They can generally do so within 3 months of application.

It’s Official!
Fiscal sponsorship is official once you sign a fiscal sponsorship agreement and pay the $250 set up fee.

Orientation
You are ready to attend our new project project orientation.
